Dear Friends and Neighbors:

It is with great sadness to report the passing of our beloved Mayor Bill Hendrick late Wednesday evening October 11.  Bill has devoted most of his adult life serving the Village of Lynbrook. Despite his failing health over the past few years he has been a fighter for the residents of Lynbrook.

Serving 19 years  as a Trustee and  the last six years as Mayor, he’s been known as a Maverick and spoke up in defense for what was right.  He was a 7 day a week  Mayor, suffering a heart attack at a Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting Tuesday morning after a busy three day Columbus weekend.

We will post funeral arrangements as soon as they are released by the family. Our deepest most heartfelt condolences go out to his sons, Bill and John, and his Grandchildren that were his shining stars.

As Deputy Mayor it was a pleasure to serve with him, and an honor to provide for the continuity of village business. If Bill was here he would say thank you for all your support over these last 25 years.

May he rest in eternal peace.

Deputy Mayor Alan Beach
